Privacy Policy

Last updated

This privacy policy explains what happens to your data when you use yardsofmaterial.com. The short version: you don’t create an account, your measurements stay in your browser, and our analytics doesn’t use cookies. Advertising partners may use cookies, as explained below, and you can opt out of personalized ads.

Your measurements stay in your browser

Every calculator runs in your browser. The numbers you type aren’t sent to us.

  • If you use Share, the link you copy contains your inputs after the “#” in the address. That part of a web address isn’t sent to our server.
  • We save your US or metric choice in your browser’s local storage so the next page remembers it. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t fingerprint your device and doesn’t track you across sites. Cloudflare also hosts the site and processes standard request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect against attacks.

Advertising

Yards of Material is free because it shows ads. We use Google AdSense, and we may later work with an advertising network such as Mediavine or Raptive. If we do, we’ll update this policy before it goes live. Until ads are switched on, no advertising cookies are set.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will see a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform before any advertising cookies are set.

Grow by Mediavine

We may add Grow by Mediavine, a small tool that lets you save pages and get recommendations. If it’s enabled, Grow may set cookies or use local storage, and it handles data under Mediavine’s privacy policy.

Your choices and your rights

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators work without them.
  • Depending on your state, US privacy laws may give you rights to know, delete or opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. To use them, opt out through the ad-choice links above or contact us.
  • We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Emails

If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and to fix any problem you report. We don’t add you to a mailing list.

Changes

We’ll update this page when anything here changes, including before new ad or analytics partners go live. The date at the top shows the last change.
